Common questions about the internet for SMEs
Why does my own domain matter?
Your domain is your digital address — it belongs to you alone, independent of platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Squarespace) and strengthens the brand. Without your own domain you depend on each platform: if they change rules or shut down, your visibility goes with them. We register your .ch domain with Swiss providers and set up DNS cleanly.
Why does my site need SSL/HTTPS?
HTTPS encrypts the connection between browser and server — mandatory for any form processing personal data (FADP/GDPR) and a Google ranking factor. Without HTTPS, Chrome marks the site as "not secure" — trust killer. Every Noevu site ships with Let's Encrypt certificates, auto-renewed.
What is the difference between hosting and domain?
Domain = the address (e.g. `noevu.ch`). Hosting = the server that runs the site. They must be connected but are separate contracts — and can sit with different providers. Noevu hosts on Vercel + Cloudflare (CDN), uses Swiss domain registrars and wires the connection at launch.
How important is website loading speed?
Very. Google measures Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) as a ranking factor. More than 53% of mobile users abandon a page that takes longer than 3 seconds to load. Fast sites convert better, rank higher and cost less ad budget. Noevu uses Astro + CDN + image optimisation — Lighthouse scores 95+ by default.
