A new homepage for a Swiss winemaker
First-class web design for a winery that combines tradition and modernity — that was the brief for the Wetli winery project on Lake Zurich. Anne Grethe & Samuel Wetli-Schinzel commissioned Noevu as Swiss Squarespace experts for winemakers to build a professional website — visually convincing and designed to invite visitors to the winery and experience the wines in person.
An aging platform: The customer & the challenge
Weinbau Wetli was faced with the classic challenge of having to replace the old winery website. The existing system was technically outdated and safe operation was no longer guaranteed. It was time for a comprehensive homepage modernization in order to better present the award-winning wines online and to create a future-proof basis for the winery's marketing. A simple product list wasn’t enough; What was needed was a shopping experience that did justice to the quality of the wines and the character of the family business.

The solution: Strategic web design with Squarespace
The project delivered more than a new website. As web designers focused on Swiss SMEs, Noevu developed a digital strategy. Squarespace kept the behind-the-scenes effort low, allowing full focus on compelling design and targeted features. The site promotes seasonal events and tastings while improving both on-site and digital sales. Custom code and targeted adjustments created functions not possible with Squarespace out of the box — resulting in a website tailored precisely to the winery.
1. Analysis, strategy & concept: The foundation for success
Through close and rapid exchange, the foundation for the new winery website was laid quickly. Goals, target audiences and the history of Weinbau Wetli were analyzed to develop an authentic and effective online strategy. The result: a modern, appealing website that represents the winery and preserves its roots.
2. In collaboration with Nik Kutter, new video headers were developed and integrated. Visitors can experience the award-winning wines up close and immerse themselves in the world of viticulture and the Wetli family.
Individual web design & interactive prototypes: Making the experience tangible
An outstanding result requires a well-thought-out approach. For Weinbau Wetli, two tailor-made interactive prototypes were created — each tailored to the needs and ideas of the client. The process ran in clearly defined phases to ensure maximum transparency and efficiency.
In close consultation with the Wetli family, the design direction was chosen to best visualize the down-to-earth nature and high quality of the winery. Squarespace's flexibility meant requests for changes could be implemented easily and without additional costs.
3. Development: Technical finesse — more than just Squarespace standard
As Swiss Squarespace developers, Noevu brought full expertise to build a distinctive shopping experience:
Individual product filters: The online shop features custom filtering by grape variety, award and availability. Customers can quickly find exactly the right wine among the full range.
Visual availability display: Wine availability is shown with an intuitive bottle symbol (empty, half full, full) — a tailor-made function beyond the standard.
Dynamic awards table: Squarespace's categories were cleverly leveraged for dynamic awards management. The Wetli family manages awards centrally; they display correctly both in an overview list and directly on each product page.
Customized checkout: A custom checkout process enables orders on account — a function Squarespace does not offer natively.
Detailed product information: A clear table shows characteristics such as food pairings, aging or serving temperature with icons — all important information at a glance.
4. Launch & Continuous Optimization
