A crypto mandate starts with trust

Anyone handing over a crypto mandate wants to know exactly who they are dealing with. At Steuris Crypto Investments that used to happen by phone, and Andreas Steuri took on every new client by hand. For the next growth step he needed one place where explanation, verification and portfolio come together.

Client & industry

  • Startup from Thun
  • Crypto mandates under Swiss law
  • Simple crypto investing with five fixed clusters

Project

  • Concept and web design
  • Client portal with identity verification under anti-money-laundering law
  • Administration for content and mandates

Result

  • Website and client portal in one system
  • A mandate in three steps: meet, verify, portal
  • 99/100 mobile performance

What set the boundaries

Four conditions were fixed before the first sketch and were not up for negotiation.

Conditions
  • Verification before access. Anti-money-laundering law requires every person to be checked before a mandate exists. An anonymous instant account is ruled out.
  • Data in Switzerland. ID documents, source-of-funds evidence and bank details do not leave the country — backups included.
  • Read-only exchange access. The platform displays holdings and cannot place an order.
  • One person runs everything. Whatever cannot be operated alone in daily work falls out of scope.

Two directions to choose from

Before the build, Andreas Steuri clicked through two directions: a matter-of-fact institution and a personal adviser with a face. He brought in family, relatives and colleagues as a test group. For the website he chose the institution with a named contact, for the portal the calmest surface.

The client's route

Three steps lead from the first impression to the client's own portfolio: getting to know each other, the application with verification, and access to the portal.

Home page and first call

The home page explains the model before anyone calls. The invested amount decides which of five clusters applies, each with a fixed coin allocation. The fee is fifteen percent of realised gains, and the crypto stays in an account in the client's own name. There are no return promises, and the risk of loss is stated openly.

At the foot of the page sits the first step: the first call, bookable right there. Free slots appear in the site's own design, and whoever books stays on the page.

Application and identity verification

The second step is the application. It starts with an email address and a link valid for 24 hours. The form then moves through six stages: person, ID document, liveness video, source of funds, invested amount and consent. Whoever stops picks up later through the same link.

Second application step with ID details and upload of front and back of the document
Stage two: ID details and both sides of the document.
Final step with a summary and consent to privacy policy and risk disclosure including version numbers
The close: consent with a version number per legal document.

Then comes the anti-money-laundering check, with screening against sanctions lists and encrypted storage of the documents. The platform stores every consent together with the version of the legal document. Up to around twenty mandates, Andreas Steuri verifies clients personally by video; the connection to a Swiss identification service is ready.

The client's own portfolio

The portal opens only after verification. There the client sees portfolio value, cluster allocation, capital flow and fees, as indicative values straight from the Crypto.com exchange. The captures show demo data.

Website and portal in one system

Andreas Steuri runs everything from one interface: pages, blog and legal texts as well as clusters, mandates, applications and payouts. The start screen shows first what needs attention. He writes the blog posts himself and edits the home page with a live preview.

In the review screen, date of birth and phone number appear as «not readable». The data is stored encrypted and shows only truncated, even in the owner's own administration. Anyone who reveals it in full leaves a trace in the audit log.

What is measurable today

Until the public launch the site stays closed to search engines; figures on enquiries follow after that. What can be measured today is speed and accessibility.

  • 99 %
Performance of the home page, mobile Google PageSpeed Insights, measured on 10 September 2026
  • 98 %
Accessibility in the same run Google PageSpeed Insights, measured on 10 September 2026
  • 1.6 s Until the largest element is there Google PageSpeed Insights, Total blocking time 0 ms, layout shift 0.022

How Andreas Steuri experienced the collaboration

Along the way, the scope grew from the planned minimum product to monthly statements and payout requests. New requests went into the ongoing work as they came up.

What made this project work

Noël Bossart
Expert tip Von Noël Bossart

Three decisions taken before the build paid off. Rules first: «access only after verification» is the only permitted route, and settling that early saves design rounds. One system: website and portal share administration, content and legal texts, so a single person can run everything. Prepared: automated identification is ready, and Andreas Steuri switches it on once volume justifies the running costs. 25 years of experience sit in exactly these decisions.

After the public launch come automated identification, an annual tax statement and further languages. The support for visibility and operations continues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Steuris Crypto Investments do?

Steuris Crypto Investments executes crypto mandates for private individuals and companies. The invested amount determines one of five clusters with a fixed coin allocation. The crypto stays in an account in the client's own name — Steuris executes, ownership does not change hands.

Why is portal access granted only after verification?

Swiss anti-money-laundering law requires every client to be identified before a mandate can start. A half-registered state would not be permissible. The route is therefore: application, review, access — in that order.

Why does a crypto platform have to be hosted in Switzerland?

Not in every case, but it was a given for this mandate: ID documents, source-of-funds evidence and bank details are highly sensitive data. Servers and backups therefore sit in Switzerland, out of reach of the US Cloud Act.

Can the platform trade?

No. The exchange connection is read-only. The platform displays holdings, performance and staking yields and cannot place an order. That limits the damage if an access credential were ever compromised.

Who maintains the content after launch?

Andreas Steuri himself. Pages, legal texts, blog, cluster definitions and mandates sit in an editorial system with draft state and version history. Noevu stays on board for visibility and operations.
